 | Heygate's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Sunday, September 2nd, 2046 Long hitting streaks don't happen very often and when they happen it perks up everybody's interest. No one knows how long it will go -- it could end tomorrow -- but baseball fans and Pete Heygate are enjoying the moment right now. The 28-year-old Keg Creek center fielder extended his string to 20 consecutive games in Coyote Den Stadium today. Heygate got 4 hits, but the Honolulu High Life got the victory. They toppled the Coyotes 13-4. Pete Heygate doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. To date, Heygate has collected 183 hits for a .343 average. He has posted 28 home runs, scored 98 runs and driven in 76 runs. |   |
