Augusto Díaz of Boston Injured, DTD Tuesday, July 25th, 2056 Boston team officials speculated whether star closer Augusto Díaz would be scratched from today's ballgame after he suffered back tightness in yesterday's matchup with the Reading Railbirds. Díaz denied reports that he would miss a lot of time, but added that he would not risk further injury by playing. So far this season Díaz has chalked up a 4.05 ERA with 12 saves. In 38 relief appearances he has registered a 1-5 won-lost record and struck out 49 batters in 40 innings, while walking 15. He has allowed teams to hit .276 against him. |
