Battle wins 2062 HR Challenge Sunday, July 2nd, 2062 Welsh Field was host to the 2062 Home Run Challenge, the annual celebration of the longball. Russell Battle finished first in the field of eight Pioneers of the Diamond sluggers, with San Jose Cuervo shortstop Russell Battle topping Kieran Bell in the final round by a score of 16-11. "There's no better feeling in the world than hitting a home run, so imagine how I'm feeling after my performance tonight," said Battle. In his career Battle has racked up 1321 hits with a .273 average and .353 on-base percentage. His numbers include 139 doubles, 26 triples, and 301 home runs, along with 849 runs scored and 888 RBIs. |
