Greer Wins HR Challenge Sunday, July 6th , 2064 Fans at Welsh Field were treated to quite a show at this year's Home Run Challenge. Taking home the hardware was Ed Greer. The Vermont Lake Monsters third baseman subdued Joe Ward in the final round by a score of 26-22. "I was glad to be part of this event," said Greer as he hoisted the championship trophy. "Even happier to win it." Lifetime Greer has played in 449 games with a .236 batting average. Among his 386 hits are 79 doubles, 7 triples and 130 home runs. He also has scored 245 runs and driven in 300 runs. |
