AP Player of the Week Goes to Ibarra of Atlantic City Monday, July 17th, 2062 At the age of 28, Juan Luis Ibarra might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Atlantic City shortstop put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .550 batting average. For his efforts Ibarra collected the Appalachian Player of the Week Award. He racked up 11 hits in 20 at-bats, no home runs and 3 RBIs last week in 4 games. This year Ibarra has hit at a .388 clip with 81 RBIs, 11 home runs and 78 runs scored. |
