Cheesesteaks Reese August's Top Hurler Monday, September 1st , 2070 Ernest Reese was ecstatic to win August's Frontier Pitcher of the Month honors today. The 30-year-old Philadelphia pitcher thanked fans, his coaches and the voters for the honor -- despite the fact that he deserved much of the credit himself. Reese's star burned bright last month as he made 15 relief appearances, notching 9 saves and 20 strikeouts in 19 innings. He held opposing hitters to a .231 average to put up his 3-2 mark and 2.84 ERA. So far this season, in 60 relief appearances Reese has compiled an ERA of 3.03. He has pitched 68.1 innings, struck out 79, walked 17 and registered 40 saves. |
