Season Possibly Over for Javier Ruíz Thursday, September 7th, 2056 The Glacier Bay Ice Pirates and their fans were rocked today by the news that star catcher Javier Ruíz would miss the rest of the season due to injury. Ruíz was hurt in a recent game against the Havana Comrades while running the bases. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was a torn abdominal muscle. His doctors think that Ruíz will miss about 3 months. Ruíz is currently hitting at a .264 pace with 6 home runs and 21 RBIs. |
