Johnny Massey Injured, Out for Year Saturday, September 14th, 2058 The doctors have spoken and Johnny Massey of the Ozark Outlaws didn't like what he heard. The 28-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Massey sustained his season-ending injury during the Vermont Emperor Penguins game yesterday at Penguin Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Ozark medical staff reported Massey had a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 13 months. Massey has made 62 relief appearances this year and notched no saves. To date in 69.1 innings he has a 5-1 record, 3.76 ERA with 77 strikeouts and 36 walks. |
