Laredo Trades Reynolds for Boston's Bonnard Sunday, July 17th, 2061 After prolonged negotiations Laredo agreed to ship 21-year-old minor league LF Stanley Bates, 21-year-old minor league RHP Lonnie Reynolds and a 6th round draft pick to Boston for 28-year-old SS Jean Bonnard. The deal is awaiting confirmation from the league office but neither team expects any hang-ups. "It took longer than expected," said one GM, "but we knew that the deal was going to happen." This season Bonnard is swinging the bat at a .246 pace. He has hit 12 home runs and scored 51 times, while driving in 44. His on-base percentage is .385 and he has played in 91 games. |
