Newark Triumphs in World Championship Thursday, October 31st, 2041 Newark topped Iowa 10-6 today at The Cornfield to win the Pioneers of the Diamond World Championship. The Falcons took the series 4-1. "This victory belonged to the entire city of Newark and all our great fans," said the team's owner as he hoisted the championship trophy for the 4th time. "Our town and our fans support us all the time ... in the good times and the bad." It was an outstanding year for the Falcons as they ended up in first place in the Appalachian Northern with a 91-71 regular-season mark. |
