Crop Circles End Gregg's Streak Wednesday, September 16th , 2065 The Iowa Crop Circles got more than the 6-3 victory at The Cornfield today -- they also put an end to the 24-game hitting streak of Reading Railbirds third baseman Harvey Gregg by holding him without a hit in 4 at-bats. After the game, Gregg seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." In his stats this season, Gregg has posted a batting average of .304 with 163 hits in 537 at-bats, 27 home runs and 102 RBIs. He has also scored 84 runs, walked 30 times and compiled a .350 OBP. |
