Lake Monsters Won't Get Playoff Berth Sunday, September 25th , 2072 The Vermont Lake Monsters quite simply didn't have what it took this year. The club was formally eliminated from playoff qualification in 2072. "It feels bad," said Lake Monsters starting pitcher Hoyt Murphy, when asked for his response by reporters. In the 59 years they have been a Pioneers of the Diamond franchise, they have missed the playoffs 37 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Lake Monsters have made the playoffs 4 times.
