Baker Sets New Record with Home Run Monday, September 16th, 2058 Justin Baker has had a spectacular year this season. Today at Penguin Field the Vermont great cracked his 79th roundtripper of the season and broke the league record held by the legendary Lawrence Pierro. The fans went wild and gave him repeated curtain calls for his historic blast. Speaking with reporters at the postgame press conference Baker told them how he was going to celebrate his new record. "I'll celebrate a little with my family tonight, but not too much. Gotta to go back to work tomorrow, you know." Justin Baker singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off José Espinosa in the 2nd and homered off José Espinosa in the 4th. This season Baker is batting .335 with 190 hits, 79 home runs, 156 RBIs, 68 walks, .405 OBP and has scored 139 runs. He has played in 142 games. |
