Chávez Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Friday, September 27th, 2058 Carlos Chávez of the Laredo Border Jumpers extended his hitting streak to 20 straight games with 3 hits in today's 8-2 triumph over the Redstone Ridge Raptors at The Raptor's Nest. "Carlos has been making it easy for me to pencil his name in the lineup every day," Border Jumpers manager Mike Debello joked after the game. Carlos Chávez singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Chávez has hit at a .314 clip with 87 RBIs, 20 home runs and 69 runs scored. He has played in 151 games. |
