No Late-Season Magic Coming: Glacier Bay Out of Playoffs Friday, October 4th, 2058 The Glacier Bay Ice Pirates season has ultimately ended in disappointment. After staying in the hunt until the final days of the season, Glacier Bay has now been officially eliminated from playoff qualification. "We were so close," starting pitcher Rick Ball said wistfully. Before this season, the Ice Pirates last missed the playoffs in 2051. In the 44 years they have been a Pioneers of the Diamond franchise, they have missed the playoffs 12 times.
