Second to None: Dundee Wins Triple Crown Sunday, October 1st, 2062 There's a new Triple Crown winner -- Ravens ace Stephen Dundee powered his way to the top of the Appalachian in wins, strikeouts and ERA. He was the league's best in all three major pitching categories. In his superb year, the 24-year-old hurler chalked up 30 wins, totaled 571 strikeouts and posted a 1.18 ERA. Dundee finished the year 30-3. It looks like a Diamond Heater Award might be in his future, too. Speaking to the press about the award, "It's quite an honor to win the pitching Triple Crown. It's good to be rewarded for hard word. I just do whatever it takes to stay at the top of my game. I have a strong work ethic and pride myself on being the best. My teammates deserve a lot of credit, too. I didn't do this all by myself." How good a year did Dundee have? One opposing batter put it this way: "We're doing the best we can. But when you've got God on the mound throwing against you, it makes it a little tough." |
