Vega's Season Could be Over
Monday, May 12th , 2064
The doctors have spoken and Mario Vega of the Coudersport Monkeys didn't like what he heard. The 33-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Vega sustained his season-ending injury during the Bethlehem Ironmen game yesterday at Coudersport Fields. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Coudersport medical staff reported Vega had a fractured elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8-9 months.
This season Vega has logged no saves. He has thrown 16 innings, dished out 21 strikeouts and walked 12 while putting up a 0-1 mark and a 3.38 ERA.
