Eagles End Graves's Streak
Saturday, August 20th, 2061
The East St. Louis Eagles pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Earl Graves hitless in 3 at-bats during the club's 11-7 victory over the Summit County Soap Box Derby at Ballpark of Stockton. The disappointing performance ended a 25-game hitting streak for the catcher.

"I'm a little down right now," Graves said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too."

This season Graves is swinging the bat at a .338 pace. He has hit 9 home runs and scored 59 times, while driving in 74. His on-base percentage is .410 and he has played in 95 games.
