Riggs Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times Sunday, May 26th , 2069 Fans are still buzzing after Yellowknife whipped the Luray Bulldogs by the score of 9-7 today at Surgeons Ballpark. Brian Riggs smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the right fielder bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 4 times. At the postgame press conference, Riggs said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Riggs said. "Three is just... wow." Brian Riggs hit a two-run home run off Sergio García in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Sergio García in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off José Gracía in the 9th and walked in the 11th. Thus far this year Riggs is batting .252 with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and 25 runs scored. |
