Koudstaal Hits in 34 Consecutive Games Saturday, August 9th, 2059 Maikel Koudstaal, first baseman for the Brighton Fightin' Squirrels, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 34 games with 2 hits in his club's 3-2 victory today over the Yellowknife Wolverines at Republic Ballpark today. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Maikel Koudstaal struck out in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. This season Koudstaal is batting at a .432 clip with 18 home runs and 90 RBIs. |
