Ottawa Halts Koudstaal's Hitting Steak Sunday, August 10th, 2059 Maikel Koudstaal's 34-game hitting streak was snapped today at Severance Grounds. The 33-year-old Brighton Fightin' Squirrels first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats in the game against the Ottawa Lynx, but Brighton came out the winner, 14-1. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Maikel," Fightin' Squirrels manager said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames." So far this season Koudstaal is batting .426 with 18 home runs. |
