Centaurs Calvin Wood Down and Out for Year
Thursday, July 31st, 2059
The doctors have spoken and Calvin Wood of the Raleigh Centaurs didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Wood sustained his season-ending injury during the Louisville Slashers game yesterday at Ballpark of Louisville. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Raleigh medical staff reported Wood had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 months.
To this point in the season he has had no saves. Wood has made 6 relief appearances, tossed 9.2 innings and struck out 18 with a record of 1 win and no losses.
