Cheesesteaks Baker Raps 3 Homers Thursday, June 23rd , 2067 Philadelphia center fielder Steve Baker blasted three homers today at Casket County Stadium in the 7-4 Cheesesteaks victory over the St. Paul Bearers. For the game, Steve Baker scored 3 times and knocked in 6 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Baker when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 3-for-4, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Baker told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Steve Baker hit a solo-shot off Roy Collins in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Roy Collins in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Greg Emerson in the 6th and walked in the 8th. Thus far this year Baker has hit .318 with 14 home runs and 43 RBIs. |
