Shepherd Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Boston
Friday, July 20th, 2063
Death Valley defeated Boston 2-1 today at Jackie Robinson Place, but saw the 21-game hitting streak of Burn center fielder Tim Shepherd snapped -- the Revolution held Shepherd hitless in 4 at-bats.
"I enjoyed the streak," he said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the win today. That's all that really counts."
This year Shepherd is batting .322 with 25 home runs and 72 RBIs. In 83 games he has scored 71 times.
