Brainerd Advances to Round 3 Sunday, August 30th , 2065 The Brainerd Seagulls said they felt the Round 2 with the Summit County Soap Box Derby would go the distance. But it didn't end up being that difficult, as Brainerd advanced to the Round 3 with a 4-1 score, to clinch the series 4-1 at Stealers Ballpark. "Whether it goes to the final game or not, we faced a good team and got the job done. It's a big momentum boost for us," said Luis Manuel Orrala, who was named series MVP. "We're all feeling good about our chances to win the Round 3." For the series, Orrala hit .278 with a .350 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Brainerd Seagulls will play against the Minneapolis Mud Hens in the next round. Minneapolis won their series against the Wildwood Waves 4 games to 1.
