Reyes Parks 3 HR in the Seats
Tuesday, June 21st , 2072
Woodmere shortstop Fernando Reyes saw a fantastic day go to waste at Ballpark of Greensboro as the Starfires lost, 15-10, despite a trio of home runs from the youngster.
"It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected Reyes said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win."
The 19-year-old tallied three homers in a 3-for-4 day, and added 6 RBIs and 3 scored.
"That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said Greensboro manager . "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win."
Fernando Reyes struck out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Elmer Cook in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jeremy Paredes in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Esteban Berrios in the 9th.
This year, Reyes is batting .351 with 3 home runs.
