Malta, Rodríguez Receive 4-Game Suspensions
Saturday, June 25th , 2072
The fans at Ballpark of Raleigh saw it all yesterday in the Peppers-Caribous game -- pushes, shoves, scuffles, a few tackles, a few swings, a few feeble punches -- and a baseball game, too. When the ruckus was over, only two players were sent to the showers by the umpire crew. Raleigh's José Malta and Port Monmouth's Roberto Rodríguez were ejected from the game.
Today the two players were suspended 4 games by the league commissioner.
So far on the season, Malta is hitting .229 with 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 8 hits and played in 12 games.
