Humphrey Raps Saint Paul for 5 Hits
Sunday, June 26th , 2072
5 hits in a game is generally considered a noteworthy achievement, but for Jeremiah Humphrey, it felt rather hollow.
The 18-year-old went 5-for-6 at the plate at Rovers Ballpark, but his Mont Vernon Gladiators fell to the Saint Paul Rovers, 17-16.
"It's hard to get too excited," the right fielder told BNN following the game. "After a game like this, everyone's quiet and they just want to go home."
Jeremiah Humphrey tripled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Tom Brown in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
Humphrey is batting .400 this season in 6 games with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 8 hits in 20 at-bats.
