Morin Smacks 5 Hits for Rovers
Sunday, June 26th , 2072
Tom Morin was at the head of a Saint Paul hit parade at Rovers Ballpark. The second baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Rovers to a nice 17-16 victory over the Mont Vernon Gladiators.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Morin told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Gladiators skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Tom Morin struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Júlio Martínez in the 7th, singled in the 8th, walked in the 9th and singled in the 10th.
This season in 5 games, Morin is batting .562 with 1 home run, 3 RBIs and has scored 6 times.
