Villamán Picked as July's Pitcher of the Month Wednesday, August 1st, 2057 This month when the Modesto manager wrote the name "Villamán" on the lineup card, he was confident that he would get a good start out of him. Outing after outing in July Tony Villamán took command and usually got the win. He dominated with a 5-1 mark and 3.19 ERA in 6 starts, piling up 42.1 innings and 56 strikeouts and holding opposing teams to a .190 average. For his superb performance Villamán was named the Outback League Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers. Thus far this season Villamán has posted a 8-1 record, started 10 games, struck out 83 batters in 65 innings and compiled a 2.77 ERA. |
