Thrice Is Nice: Mieses Unloads 3 Homers Friday, July 2nd , 2066 It was a day for the record books for Louisville Slashers center fielder Tony Mieses, who walloped three out of Buffalos Ballpark against the Buffalos. However, not even a three-homer game could prevent the Buffalos from taking the 12-10 victory. "We threw some good pitches and they hit 'em, and we made some bad pitches and they hit 'em. That's a good strategy for losing ballgames," Louisville skipper joked after the loss. Mieses still had a few opportunities to celebrate along the way. He was 4-for-5 for the day, batting in 7 runs and scoring 3 times. "I never, ever thought I would hit three home runs," Mieses said. "I hit three home runs once when I was 12 in Little League and I thought that was going to be the last time." Tony Mieses grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Li Dryden in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Hirokazu Miyamoto in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Kevin Murdoch in the 9th. In the current season, Mieses has put up a .185 batting average with 12 hits, 5 home runs, 14 RBI and scored 7 runs. |
