Gappers Win Round 1 Friday, August 29th , 2070 After eliminating the Beloeil Barracudas 11-5 in the Round 1 at Beloeil Grounds, the victorious Greensboro Gappers will now move on to the next round: the Round 2. Greensboro beat Beloeil 3-1 in the series. The MVP trophy was awarded to Gappers shortstop Adamnan Lubis, who knocked in 4 runs, hit .312 and scored 4 times. "The guys were all chanting 'M-V-P' when I went into the clubhouse," Lubis said later, with a smile. "It was kind of embarrassing but it feels great to be here." The Greensboro Gappers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Córdoba Sky Sox - Holliday Jackets series. Córdoba leads the series 2 games to 1.
