Playoffs Won't Happen for Stampede Monday, August 10th , 2071 Even the most die-hard fans of the Avon Stampede will likely now start focusing on next year. The team was today mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. "We're disappointed," said Stampede starting pitcher Bill Crowder. "Not just for ourselves, but also for the fans that stick with us every year." The Stampede have missed the playoffs 26 times in their 43 years as a POTD Rookie League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 7th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2064. In the last 10 seasons, the Stampede have made the playoffs 2 times. |
