Wesman Tags Rovers for 5 Hits Tuesday, July 30th , 2069 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Larry Wesman is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Saint Paul Rovers at Beloeil Grounds today. The monster effort from the 21-year-old second baseman helped the Beloeil Barracudas take the win, 22-12. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Rovers manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Larry Wesman singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th and singled in the 7th. In 37 games this year Wesman has posted a .317 average and put up these numbers: 4 home runs, 17 RBIs and 34 runs scored. View Boxscore |
