Kurt Barras Wins 2072 AP Batting Title

Washington's Kurt Barras completed the season in style by winning the Appalachian batting crown. He claimed the coveted title by hitting a solid .359 for the year.
The gifted 31-year-old Monuments shortstop chalked up 217 hits during the season with 27 home runs, 86 RBIs and 108 runs scored.

Baker of Philadelphia Earns FR Batting Crown

When it came to batting average, no one hit better than Steve Baker of the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks this season.
The 29-year-old hitting star topped the Frontier with a .352 batting average, registering 193 hits in 549 at-bats. The talented center fielder hit 26 home runs and drove in 97 runs. Baker played in 153 games and also collected 36 doubles, 7 triples and scored 121 times.

Havana Devastated by Playoff Elimination

There won't be a Pioneers of the Diamond championship banner being raised in Havana this year. The Havana Comrades came close to qualifying for the postseason, but ultimately have failed to make it in. They were officially eliminated today.
This is the club's 13th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2059. In total, the Comrades have missed the playoffs 43 times in their 59-year history. Havana has won the Round 4 2 times in their history.
