Monuments Bridle Cheesesteaks, 1-0
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Washington Monuments and Philadelphia Cheesesteaks.
The Washington Monuments did just enough to sneak past the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, 1-0, at William Penn Park. Washington pitcher José Féliz, in particular, had a standout performance. Féliz got the win, improving to 12-6. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Féliz allowed no runs.
Júlio De La Cruz, the 28-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. De La Cruz contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the sixth inning to put Washington up, 1-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Féliz told the Washington Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The winning streak has now reached 7 games for the Monuments.
