Reading starter Adrián Jiménez put a stranglehold on the Richmond offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Railbirds to a 2-1 win. José Méndez recorded the save, his 8th. Reading has run its win streak to 4 in a row.

The Railbirds got a big at-bat from third baseman Fernando Batista. For the game, Batista went 2-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Reading a 2-1 lead.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Reading manager Slam Dunks.
