Skinner Takes Chainsaw to West Island Bats in 4-1 Win
|
George Skinner was superb against West Island . The left-hander, who is tied for 7th in the AP with a 1.00 WHIP, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Monuments victory. The score was 4-1. Brandon Holcomb earned the save, his 34th in 36 tries. At 60-51, Washington is in third place in the Appalachian Coastal.
Skinner gave Washington a solid start. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 8 innings.
"Glad to go home with a win," said Skinner.
