Ravens Win, 5-1, at Washington
|
Washington got a decent performance from pitcher George Skinner, but it wasn't enough to beat the Richmond Ravens. Richmond won the The Grand Lodge contest, 5-1. Skinner threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The victory gives Richmond a record of 61-52.
Richmond used the clutch hitting of Hiroshi Sato to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ravens ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Sato told the Richmond Today.
