Fans watched the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks and the St. Paul Bearers fight to the finish.

Forrest McDonald pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The St. Paul Bearers, despite McDonald's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks at William Penn Park. Philadelphia leads the Frontier Northern by 3½ games.

Philadelphia first baseman Armando Sierra contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a sinker into left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 115th hit of the season and put the Cheesesteaks ahead, 2-1.

"We scored one run," said St. Paul manager Mitchell Slacko. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
