2500 Hits for Barras Saturday, May 4th , 2075 The box score from yesterday's game will show that Washington beat the Vermont Lake Monsters, 13-9. It will also show that shortstop Kurt Barras went 1-for-4 for the Monuments. It will not show, however, that Barras reached the 2500-hit mark for his career. The 34-year-old Barras reflected on the achievement after the game. He mused: "In one respect, it's a real milestone, I guess. Yet, it's just a base hit like any other base hit." In his career, Barras has accumulated a .305 batting average with 2500 hits.
