Aces, Martínez Buzz Launch, 2-0 Friday, May 18th, 2063 There was no spell, no black magic -- just good pitching. Esteban Martínez of the Atlantic City Aces blanked the Cape Canaveral Launch, 2-0, at Trump Stadium today, and he did it the old-fashioned way. After finishing the 2-hit, complete-game shutout, he was all smiles. "I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game," Martínez said. "I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance." Martínez walked 2 and struck out 4 in the victory. "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes," Launch manager said later. To this point in the season, Martínez shows a 6-1 record, 9 starts, 65.1 innings, 63 strikeouts and a 2.62 ERA. View Boxscore View Game Log Watch Highlights |
