Hits Galore: Ortíz Drills 5 Hits
Monday, April 12th , 2077
Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Pedro Ortíz said his club's tilt with the Mankato Minutemen "felt almost like batting practice." The 18-year-old left fielder went a remarkable 5-for-6 at the plate.
"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.
However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Crab Apple Cove Barrels, who were topped by the Minutemen, 8-5.
"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Barrels manager said. "Sometimes Pedro is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-6 and lose than go 0-for-6 and lose."
Pedro Ortíz singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
