Ruckus Reaps 4-Game Suspensions Monday, June 26th , 2073 Sometimes on the baseball diamond disparaging words are uttered in anger and lead to more than what the players bargained for. That's what happened at yesterday's Mankato Minutemen-Luray Bulldogs game at Moths Ballpark. What started off as a war of words ended up a tag team match as both clubs rushed on the field to defend their honor. When the umpires sorted it all out, they ejected Mankato 's Rob Armstrong and Luray's Jim Unknown from the game for their roles in starting the melee. Today the players were notified by the league office that they had been suspended 4 games for violating league rules. Armstrong is batting at a .270 pace this season, picking up 65 hits in 241 at-bats with 8 home runs, 46 RBIs and 32 runs scored. |
