5-Hit Blitz by Callahan Friday, May 13th , 2072 Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Earl Callahan said his club's tilt with the Chibougamou Onions "felt almost like batting practice." The 21-year-old catcher went a remarkable 5-for-6 at the plate. "I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later. However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Luray Bulldogs, who were topped by the Onions, 4-3. "It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Bulldogs manager said. "Sometimes Earl is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-6 and lose than go 0-for-6 and lose." Earl Callahan doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Mike Cash in the 4th, doubled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and walked in the 13th.
