Burke Bashes 5 Base Hits Tuesday, July 22nd, 2059 All game long, Ft. Collins 's Chris Burke was rattling the walls at Crush Ballpark and banging out base hits against the Raleigh Revolution. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Rams had a 10-9 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 23-year-old second baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Chris Burke doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Sheng Kwan in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Thus far this season Burke is hitting .271 with 2 home runs, 17 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 45 hits in 166 at-bats and has played in 47 games. View Boxscore |
