Pearson Extends Hit Streak to 37 Games Sunday, August 10th, 2059 Chris Pearson, first baseman for the Brighton Fightin' Squirrels, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 37 games with 2 hits in his club's 14-1 victory today over the Ottawa Lynx at Severance Grounds today. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Chris Pearson walked in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, walked in a run in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Art O'Connor in the 7th. To date this year Pearson is batting .431 with 10 home runs. |
