Pérez Grabs PAC Top Pitcher Trophy Saturday, September 1st, 2057 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Carlos Pérez, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Ottawa Lynx reliever, 22, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .222 average and walked away with the Pacific League Pitcher of the Month award for August. Pérez posted a 5-0 mark and a 0.57 ERA in 5 relief appearances. In 15.2 innings, he had no saves, 17 strikeouts, and 6 walks. Thus far this season Pérez has compiled a 10-1 record, made 48 relief appearances with 2 saves, hurling 112 innings and striking out 84. He has held the opposition to a .226 batting average with a 2.81 ERA. |
