Year Ends for Dave Combs in Dakota
Wednesday, July 13th , 2072
Dakota starting pitcher Dave Combs could miss the remainder of the season because of a damaged elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's Pine Bluff game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Combs would be out 11 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
Checking out his stats for the year, Combs has racked up 2 wins and 1 loss in 5 starts, posted a 3.24 ERA, and struck out 24 batters in 25 innings.
