McDonald Shuts Out Red Barons Sunday, July 2nd, 2062 The New England Red Barons were almost helpless today in their 8-0 loss to the Moline Mavericks and hurler Mike McDonald. McDonald kept the Red Barons confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to McDonald," New England manager said in his postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 22-year-old left-hander had no walks and 7 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," McDonald said.
